Cliff, I am interested in your EL. Do you have pics? And I saw some Khaki Campbell ducklings for sale on Craigslist. Isn't that what your friend was looking for?

You can certainly wash it into the ground but I try to catch as much as I reasonably can in a bucket for later disposal.
The feathers really do go everywhere but a rake should get most of that cleaned up. I tend to skin more birds than I pluck (until I get my new plucker set up and running, anyway). It is easier and doesn't make near the mess.
I wouldn't mind an audience. I have a few local folks that are already asking me to show them. Too bad we'd freak out the "normal" people that might be at Cliff's TSC swap thingy or I could show you there. lol
lol!
If you let me know the next time you're processing, I'll gladly be thereThank you!!
What breeds do you process? I'm trying to figure out what breeds would be best for me. I love roasted chicken, but it's also VERY important to me that they can have a "normal" chicken life before slaughter-be able to walk around, enjoy the sunshine, scratch for bugs, etc.
I quarantine for 4 weeks before I put any birds outside where my flock lives.
*covers my eyes since I have NO business adding to my flock right now*![]()
What is everyone bringing? Flower-will you be selling fodder at the meet? I definitely want!
I have nothing to bring but my sweet self and a lot of enthusiasm for learning new things that will make my girls happier (provided no one tells them I want to raise meat birds). lol!
Someone on craigslist had 40 meat chicks for $1 each.
I am going to bring a sample tray or two.....just to show (with some info sheets). I can bring you some barley seeds from our local feedstore if you need me to. It's about $20 (may have tax added) Let me know.
And, if you are bringing nothing, you have more room to take home LOTS! hahawahhaaa!
