YO GEORGIANS! :)

@katsdar I can't wait to see pictures of Nelson and Helen.

Update on our daughter: They took her off all the drips she was on. They will be giving her antibiotics a couple times a day. She has to stay at the hospital until the baby delivers. They are trying to wait until 34 weeks. She is at 30 weeks now. They are trying to get the baby's lungs to develop before she delivers.
That is good she is off meds that is a good sign and now we just pray the baby stays for 4 weeks, tell your DD to hang in there that is going to be the longest month. Enjoy the warm weather, and send it our way. I will get some as soon as it warms up a little

OMG! Hope she takes advantage of having her own remote control to the TV! And of people waiting on her! I have only had 2 surgeries in my life and I MADE them keep me in there as long as my insurance would let me stay! At first, when I told my doctors I wanted to stay as long as possible, they thought I was crazy.....but then they met DH and the doctors literally pulled me aside and said, "Now I understand. You can stay as long as you want!" and everyday the doctor (female of course) asked if I wanted to go home yet and I would say, 'No" and she would say, "you've got it" and she would let me stay! Hahaha.....best vacation ever....meals served in bed, my own remote, watching what I wanted to watch. Really nice.

Now, all jokes aside, I will send good energies your way. Hoping for the best! Keep us informed!

For those For those of you wondering about the admission to the chicken show it is free to get in. I checked!!! course they said donations are welcomed, and that would just cut into my chicken money and that would be detrimental to my over all happiness.

Here are pics of Nelson and the gang, missing is Helen, the neighbors dog got her, I have never had that happen before and we are so mad. I reminded my DH the old saying a dog in his yard is a pet, a dog in your yard is a predator. So he need to be wary the gun is now by the back door.

So the hunt is on to get Nelson a new wife, a game hen, anyone have one? We got Helen at the swap.

but I'm thinking this may not be such a bad thing since Helen and Nelson would not join the flock, but now Nelson needs his friends.

True Araucanas are hard to find. They are rumpless chickens. I had a few and sold them to a guy near Stone Mountain. I could contact him for you. The one thing about Araucanas is that they lay smaller eggs and not nearly as many as a good Easter Egger will lay.....so I went with Easter Eggers instead. Oh yeah, and if the Araucana has tuffs (not muffs), it carries the lethal gene that makes them really hard to hatch. About 80% will die in the shell and a lot of the ones that are born will die within a few weeks. Do your research on true Araucanas. You may want to go with Ameraucanas or Crested Cream Legbars. They both will lay blue eggs and don't have the issues with the tuff lethal genes. Here is a true Araucana with tuffs.

If you get your Marans and your Ameraucanas (or other blue egg layers) then you don't need Olive hens and roosters because if you mate the Marans to the Ameraucanas, you get olive eggers. But, if you mate two olive eggers together, you will get all different colors of eggs, brown, white, blue, etc.
