YO GEORGIANS! :)

Got up yesterday at 4 am, flew back to ATL. Rode MARTA....very strange people there! Didn't get home til 10. Had to walk in and start cleaning....warning: DON'T LEAVE YOUR HUSBAND HOME BY HIMSELF FOR A WEEK! Glad the maids were called to help clean the big house this time because I had them clean our apartment, too! Exhausting! But guess what!!!!!!!!

NOTHING DIED THIS TIME while I was gone!!! Yea!!!!!

And, DH let me order some hatching eggs for our family reunion! Just wanted them to give me some funky new stuff. Mixed chickens. Roos were Silver Laced Polish, Frizzled Roo?, and 2 Pure Lavender Ameraucanas. Hens were Lavender Ams, Olive eggers, easter eggers, Naked Necks, Houdans, Wheaten Marans, Golden Polish, Silver Campines, Silver penciled Plymouth Rocks, and some others. She said they are getting some really fun and funky crosses but that I may also get a pure lav am! It will be fun. And, they were only $10 plus shipping. But still got them for less than my husbands case of beer! They will be added to my own mix. My daughter wants me to also add some duck eggs. I had some in the bator for an earlier hatch and figured out that only the younger two ducks have fertile eggs......isn't that just like a male! Goes for the younger ones! So, I will eat those delicious eggs from Delilah and hatch those from the younger two! I will be having lots of chicks and ducks for sale early April! (cheap)

Oh, and Buddy, cute chick!!

Sweet. My birthday is next month. Now you all have a website to shop at.

Mine too!

Glad to hear it, have we passed the doc's 7 to 10 day mark?
The Dr came in about an hour ago and said that she was doing good. He seemed surprised that she hasn't gone into labor yet. The Dr said if she can hold out until March 18th they can induce if she wants them too. He still doesn't think she will make it to the 18th though. We are waiting on them to give her an ultrasound hopefully before I have to leave at 3.

Things sound like they are going great for mom and baby:) Throw me under the bus for this but I have to put this out there: loving animals is an awesome trait for any person to have. Being able to care for the animals we love and crave companionship with should also should be considered. Proper housing and care for every type we choose (or that choose us;-)) should always be considered above our sense of wanting them to be just like humans. This time of year it can be hard hearing/reading about all the excitement others are having with hatching/getting more animals if you know you've exceeded your limits:) Remember that sometimes numbers don't count if quality and husbandry are at stake. Okay, I'm hiding now to wait for the fall-out after my soap opera moment...

Ha! If you are taking to me, please know I spoil my babies. They are well taken care of. We have 25 acres with a three acre lake. The ducks go to the lake every day and then get to sleep in the protection of a large multi room coop. Very predictor proof. The chickens are all named and are picked up and loved regularly. I will sell most of the chicks. I sell my eggs. And besides, my DH is my controler. He would not allow me to exceed my limit. But, I hear you and agree. Quality if life is extremely important.

So nobody can know what their future holds?

Oh no, I didn't aim it at you flower! Sorry for the mix up- the momma and baby comment was for you but I should have separated the 2 subjects. You do have some beautiful property. I think the rerun episode of the chicken hoarder combined with the newsprint story a year or so ago of dismal conditions for some chickens bought from BYC members (there is a thread that had a link to the news video as well as some shocked members that had sold to the person) triggered my rant:) I am so saddened when something like that is discovered; sad for the animals AND the folks that just don't see anything wrong with it. Sorry for the mix up!:)

I finally got my chick to be quite last night I put her back in with the ducklings and she climbed on top of them and whent right to sleep. I guess I have one more critter with an identity crisis.
