YO GEORGIANS! :)

Um-I hate to change the topic, but I have a cat that hangs around my job. He's timid and losing weight. My boss has given me permission to feed him, but I want to bring him home so he can have a safe, dry place to sleep and plenty of food.

Any tips on how to catch a cat without traumatizing him? I named him Chaser because he chases after me every time I go out there. He wants me to talk to him and apparently wanted food. Poor boy :(

I've seen the live traps, but they tend to turn the trapped cat into ping pong balls due to stress.

He'd be staying in a cat cage (the big 4' high ones) until I can set up an actual cat room for him.

Short of gaining his trust to the point you can just pick him up, the live traps are the only choice. Everything else grabs in a most unpleasant manner. If you have a large pen to transfer him to, the live trap won't stress him out too much. I have trapped a lot of cats over the years. The truly feral ones are the ones that will bounce around wildly inside them. Most semi domesticated ones might be scared but they'll calm down quickly. I always use the pencil test. If you can touch the cat with a pencil and the metal around the eraser doesn't come out chewed up, there's hope for him. If he won't let you pick him up, then trap him and take him home. Transfer him to the bigger cage and feed him and make him comfortable with you. Might take a while but you can do it if you have the time and patience.

Once u get him in the trap cover it with a blanket or old towel to help keep him calm. Try taking a bag of treats and give him a few as u go in and out u will have in your lap after a few days.

I think I am going to be very upset. Remember the eggs my DH let me order? The seller is out of FL, right? So how come the box is being shipped via, Canada Post?! With instructions to track in French, I might add! If these eggs are coming all the way from Canada, I am going to be sooooo mad! I only wanted them because they didn't have that far to travel! Is it legal from her to be like a "broker" for someone who lives in Canada?

Is it legal for farm goods to be shipped into the country without Ag Dept getting involved? I really don't know. That's a weird situation. But..... legality aside.... A shipment from Canada may actually be closer than from our own West Coast depending on what part of Canada from whence they come. We've had lots of success with eggs shipped from California. So if the instructions are in French, the shipper may be on the Canadian east coast.

But, the ebay seller info is from Leesburg, FL. I even looked up her address and facebook pages. She lives in FL. So, she must be selling them for someone who lives in Canada. I don't like ordering eggs from that far away.

I have someone looking for lavender orpingtons and delawares.

Does anyone know who breeds them?

She's also looking for silkies.

Just wanting to help her find them and pass the contact info to her.

How is Nelson?

I was able to see the Ultrasound. I'm back home for tonight and going back tomorrow unless our Son in law decides he would rather stay. She is still doing good and baby is active. The baby had hick-ups while she was getting the ultrasound.

Hi, Nelson is good the girls and boys are in the barn/garage they don't want to go into their house yet, but all seem to be nice and toasty, even the bannies are doing just fine. Glad to hear you got to see the ultra sound and both are doing good. Tell your DH to lay off the beer, poor baby got the hick-ups.
