YO GEORGIANS! :)

Why not hogs too? Our biggest one was SUPPOSED to go to processing last Friday. After 2 1/2 hours of wrangling he got what he wanted- to stay in the lot! Us newbie hog raisers can't get fatso porkchops loaded alive so other 'arrangements' are being made to load him the opposite way:) So why not raise hogs?;-)

After the Biloxi post I was wondering if anyone had heard of Gautier! I lived there during Katrina. Only started rethinking the choice of not evacuating when 2 feet of water came in the house and you realize it isn't just water...

Not just water? Did you have sharks in your living room like in Sharknado?

Pigs would tear up my fence. I would have to build a special pen for them and that would cost money I need for other things I need to do first.

Sewage. Nuff said! We certainly didn't expect this when we started with hogs: that's his head outside the shelter area and inner lot when the snow melted followed by rain.

Just sold 4 hens for $80. I let him have my brown egg layers. Now I get to keep some of my cute colored egg layers I am hatching !

Just wanted to publicly thank you for the ladies and for your hospitality while my wife and I were at your place!
The hens are doing great. They love their new "Chicken Tractor" home.

They staked out spots fairly early.

The move didn't seem to stress them out at all - these three eggs were laid after their first night, and we got two more of the lighter eggs yesterday.

One hasn't laid yet and one seems to have skipped a day (which happens) so I figured I'd reward them with some ranging time and a cabbage treat to let them feel more at home.
Moved the tractor/coop to a spot with fresh grass and bugs too :)

For those of who live close to Savannah, GA, there is what looks like a Silver Laced Wyandotte Rooster at Daffin Park. He was trapped in the fenced area at the pool. The Pool guys said they were going to open the fence and let him out. He seemed friendly to me and my two year old daughter. We gave him some peanut butter crackers and came right up to us at the fence. If someone wanted to rescue him and give him a good home and some hens, he is there for the taking.
