YO GEORGIANS! :)

Oh dear!! I bet they'll all be fine. How many more hatched?

Only 4 ducks and 3 chicks so far but lots of pips and zips! And now my DDs want to go to the outlet mall......ugh, I hate shopping! Would rather stay here and watch chicks hatch! But, these chicks aren't even due until Thursday, so I guess there will be plenty to watch later!

Are there any BYC Georgians near the Newnan area? And do you have any recommendations for a poultry vet? I got 2 little chickie poos with wry neck. There has been a slightly positive response to vitamin supplement treatment but it's touch and go. I do not want to hijack this thread( i have already posted a thread in the proper forum). I just need to know if any of my GA BYC neighbors can direct me to a vet JIC I need one. I am in Moreland, but Newnan is close by. Thanks in advance for your time and patience. :D

It is not possible to hijack this thread. We talk about everything.

Try a vet who treats large and small, as my vet does farm animals and she treats chickens but I'm sure you don't want to drive to Summerville for a vet trip.

LOL I don't think I know where Summerville even is! I think I have heard of it, but not sure if I'm confusing it with somewhere else. I grew up on the northeast side of Atl Metro area. We moved down here from just 8 miles outside ATL in Stone Mountain. I'm still getting to know everything that is down this aways. :)

Summerville... 2/3 of the stuff on craig's list farm and garden is in Summerville.

Well, that explains why Summerville is familiar! I have been all over Craigslist lately trying to source materials ot build their coop as cheap as possible.

My first set of eggs came in today!!!! I ordered 6 but he sent me 8. All were perfect, no cracks or splits in shells. All the air cells still look attached! Right now they are resting, and I can't wait to get them in tonight.

Hello

I'm new here, and have almost a year with my flock of 6 BYCs.

I'm relocating from Roanoke, VA to most likely Canton, GA. I'm trying to find out BYC friendly parts of that area.

Any help appreciated!

"Now I'm confused!" Captured some friend time today;-) My 2 gimpy RIR boys were set to range, knowing something would eventually get them but they are too sweet natured for me to kill myself. I won't sell any with issues (these came from hatching eggs which I later discovered parent stock was in no shape to hatch from) and last night something got the other boy. Guess this one feels safer with the big guys cuz he hasn't left the hog lot!
