YO GEORGIANS! :)

Dallas TSC has barred rock pullets, bantams and asian blue chicks. I will be here a few minutes if anyone wants me to pick some of anything up for them.
I was in there tuesday and they didn't have a single chick anywhere, they must have gotten a shipment in. Made a trip to your area to pick up a 5' tiller from a guy over on macland road for the tractor

Flower my last styrofoam hatch was SO wet, I was having to take chicks out AS they hatched and almost put them under running warm water (wrapped in a rag) and gently rubbing all the albumen/shells off.. It was disgusting. Their navels were rough also, so I doused their bellies in betadine then blew them partly dry and hurried them back to the bator. It worked very well.

Wow, that describes what I did last night to a T! I am so tired now and just want to go to bed, but NOOOO, have to do the campfire with the renters! Ugh!

Anyway, I just had never had this happen with the hatch. Sad to lose so many chicks!

Robo my dad sent me this pic of a sweet little drake who joined his ducks for breakfast on Monday.. I told him I wondered if he might belong to you guys? It's sure close enough.. He said he clearly wasn't wild and knew humans = food, lol

I found Mama Mallard's nest today! Sneaky little thing. She chose the spot where she hatched out her very first clutch.. I hadn't looked there because she hasn't used it in a few years since once it was raided and another it was flooded. I'm hoping it doesn't flood again before she finishes!!

Here's how close to the water she is.. Inside the base of the big tree..
