YO GEORGIANS! :)

This is too dumb not to share.

I was on the phone with a new love interest. Lotus was apparently jealous because she jumped up on my legs and flaps my cigarette into my eye. I just got home from the ER. The lit part of the cigarette burned my cornea.

It was unusual enough that the ER doctor used it as a way to train a new nurse.

I used to work for a local shelter and had to put down fighting roosters-never got a scratch on me. Yet a laying hen sent me to the ER. The irony is not lost on me. lol

Yikes! I hope your eye heals! And I hope the new love interest is still an interest!

That sounds like the kind of luck I have. I can totally relate.

Well, Sherlock is looking handsome so far. Even has tried a gurgled crow. I'm thinking Daisy is a pullet (I hope). What do y'all think?

Daisy is behind Sherlock here

And in these two, she's in front of him.

My other gals being "delicate" about going out in the rain. So they'll hang out on the back porch all day, pooping all over it!

Beautiful birds!

More chicken drama!

I went home on my lunch break today, and found a dead chicken. My 15 mo old EE was lying under the coop. There no signs of predators and no mites around her vent. DS let them out this morning, and I don't know how observant he was. I put them up last night, and didn't see any birds out, but can't be certain. All the other birds seem fine. We've had buckets of rain last night and today, so it could have simply drowned. Is a necropsy worth it? What are the processes/costs involved?

RIP Happy Feet

I recall being told that a necropsy done by GA Poultry Lab(?) is free of charge. I'm not 100% positive, so maybe contact them and see?

What time will you be getting there? I'll bring food, since I will be empty handed otherwise. I can bake something or my 7 layer salad or my(MS's) Black Eyed Pea/Jalapeno Salad are usually my most requested from friends when BBQs or potlucks are happening.

Will probably pop in 10-ish somewhere around there
