YO GEORGIANS! :)

for all coming to Robo and GAM's tomorrow, here's a pic of some pork shoulder that's about to go on the smoker for several hours...... before trimming: after trimming, covered in mustard (to hold the dry rub on while cooking) and my home made dry rub: and a chuck roast for us for supper tonight going on with it. will take the chuck roast 5 or 6 hours, will take the shoulder between 8 and 9. will be starting these about noon so supper is ready when DW gets home from work. Different rub on the pork and beef.
3 hour drive is starting to sound good to me.

Papachaz is making me hungry.

Those of you that are coming tomorrow... We have a limited number of chairs so you might consider bringing your own.

Really looking forward to an ejoyable day.

I'm making a fresh batch of sauce too. I like my sauce sweet, so if anyone wants some that's a bit hotter you might want to bring it. I don't sauce the meat while I'm cooking.

good tip about the chairs we'll definitely bring ours. Found out yesterday the daughter is off, so not sure if the granddaughter will be with us

Yippee! How exciting! I can't wait for my eggs from you to hatch! I think I've got another week! Hope I get lots if NNs! Keep us notified!

You should get several NNs. The first one of mine to hatch this time is a BLUE NN. I have one Blue Copper Maran hen so a Blue Frizzled NN is a possibility. Some of the eggs that you have are from Black Copper, Blue Copper, Wheaten and Cuckoo Maran hens crossed with the NN roo that I got from you last year.

Papa if my hubby ends up there I know what y'all will talk about.. He's a smoking FREAK (and snob too lol). But with the mustard and dry rub it appears to me y'all already have two things in common.

Have you tried any of the Meat Church rubs? That's his latest thing. The "Honey Hog" is SO good!!

will have to write that down, I've tried some of the "other" popular brands and always come back to my own.

meats on the smoker, sauce is made, kitchen cleaned up, time for a break. then I have to get out and get my tractor put back together, in between keeping a check on the smoker
