YO GEORGIANS! :)

Great job! I have a coworker who got a super speeder award a few weeks ago. Close to $600. :lau :lau

I was sure to show hubby, be glad I speed like a poor chick and not a rich one!!

Katie- and you said you couldn't build stuff?!? Awesome job! All the chicks are puffing up beautifully and look so cute.

I got a speeding ticket the other day. 1st time ticket. Dh says 'how you gonna pay it cuz I'm not?' Hehe- sold $70 worth of chicks in less than 30 minutes! Gave the buyer a price cut but he still gave me full price cuz he liked my stock

I was so ecstatic then dh says he made $200 in 10 minutes and didn't have to do anything

I did the phone discussion to sell the vehicle parts, buyer showed up early and removed parts himself, dh got home from work just in time to collect the money and tell them bye! I got a commission though. I still think mine was better

Thank you. I'm sort of surprised. I guess I set limitations for myself before I gave it a chance. Alot of it was "do or die" since my DH's schedule is so crazy that he hasn't been able to help like he wanted. I will say though, I'm pretty sure I've familiarized myself with every freakin power tool we own. Including the ones I was most afraid of. So there is that.

Dh kept telling me for years now that it was gonna happen. Alas, I have the option of "Please Judge, may I take the driving class? I've never been in trouble before!" Court costs, filing fees, driver's class fees then nothing on my record v/s dh's suggestion of just pay the fine, get points on my license and higher insurance...let's see...such a hard choice! I'm so much like my grandmother- mine was 17 over the limit. Not even close to what hers was in her new red mustang when my uncle told her her car didn't have nothing

I'd just pay the fine, your insurance shouldn't go up because of it. Great job on getting up the money love it when we can prove DH's wrong.

@GAchickennewbie did you get to pick which guineas I got? I have been looking on line at the different colors and I definitely have a "white" one and the others are I think are going to be the pearl grey very common, and then the little blue one I think is going to be a coral blue, I'm so excited with these little guys!! Thanks again for getting them

I bought all he had at the time. If I had only chosen a few, I would've grabbed the blue and white, though

It was my pleasure! Glad I could help

Chick Starter 0 - 8 weeks
Grower food  8 - 16 weeks
Layer feed 16 weeks

Some companies offer the Chick Starter/Grower Feed in the same bag but some are separate.  Not sure which one you were using, but it is time to change to Layer feed.  They need different nutrients to start their bodies to prepare for EGGS!!!
Mine are almost 6 weeks old. I still have maybe a weeks worth of my medicated starter feed left. I already bought a new bag of medicated starter/grower feed but now wondering if I should take that back and get straight grower feed?

IMO I would just use what you have and in the next batch of feed you could use the grower and save you some money don't get the medicated it is only useful I'm told in the beginning, I just get one bag of medicated and when the chicks finish that I don't buy anymore medicated. I hope this helps

someone jump in if need be

I am trying to figure out what I want to use in the run when we build it. I have been looking at threads and most folks seem to use sand or shavings, leaves and grass clippings. I never see mention of "mulch" other than in reference to the leaves and clippings. I ask because, I have a few bags of this laying around that are leftover. I assume because it says "color advantage" that it has dyes in it? I've never paid much attention to that before. Has anyone ever used this type of thing before and what was your experience? I was thinking, provided it is safe to use, that I may mix this in with the other things mentioned. But ONLY if it is safe. The clay soil is pretty well compacted like cement since I have been traipsing all over it while working. It's just sitting here not being used. my instincts are telling me not a good idea. and if it is dyed, I have no idea why they'd call it color advantage. after a couple of rains and direct sun, it's totally faded.

I don't think I'd use it because it's dyed. I put wood chips in mine straight from the tree companies truck, About to go to our local guy and load my utility trailer because I need some more, for the run and for the garden
