YO GEORGIANS! :)

Zero. Zero is the number of Fs I give that it's raining. I'm painting the inside of the coop anyway. It's under cover. However, from the looks of the weather this coming week, I'll be painting the outside after the chicks are moved into it. LOL i don't think they'll mind.
make sure you paint early in the day to give fumes time to dissipate wouldn't want to kill all your birds, just a thought don't know if it would but you never know.

D'uccle hatch is complete! Seven babies out. Of ten ordered, 12 were shipped. Two were clears, one quit.

Of the nine that locked down, one died before internal pip and one started to zip and from what I can tell, zipped right back through the cattywampus air sac and fluid came through and drowned it.

BUT, I got seven!
I never thought about the wonky air cells, my shipped eggs were really weird wonder if that is what happened to all of my hatch?

I killed the biggest opossum last night, my dog scared him and he played opossum he should have ran because he caught 2. I got him first in the head but his stomach was writhing like an alien was going to pop out so I thought oops maybe a momma so it got it again. I looked and I didn't see any girl parts but then I'm not accustom to looking between opossums legs.

I went strawberry picking today and of course had to give some to my babies, they went nuts,
oh Nat update the bird that has been very aggressive, has done a 180. He takes treats out of my hand and gets along with everyone, well I have to play musical pens and put Red fox up so they will not fight. So I'm now alternating time out of jail for the boys they are not free ranging together anymore. I moved the guineas where they could get some yard time today, they do not like being handled and sooooo loud a piercing peep, all I can say is wow. So harmony has returned to the barn yard

The medicated feed is debatable. I have Indian Runner Ducks and they have had no problem on medicated feed. However, If you were just going out to buy some more, go ahead and get the non-medicated kind. One of the important things ducks need is Niacin. I get the liquid Kickin Chikin and squirt some on top of their food and mix it with a little water. It also adds vitamins, etc. All my babies get this! My ducks think they are chickens! They do fine together!
Hahahahaha sooo cute.!!!!

Well, that's just my thinking. It had made a nice hole and was working left, everything looked fine. Then I noticed it was dead and coming from behind its head, just to the nostrils was egg goo stuff.. May be completely off base but couldn't think of anything else.

Oh! Got home and heard CHIRPING in the bator AGAIN.. That dang Brahma that had pipped was already out! On day (late) 19!

. So when I went to take it out (because I knew I didn't want to leave it for two days waiting on the others), at least one other has pipped. I just closed the door quickly.

I guess I need to turn down my temp. :/

I ordered more eggs tonight. :lau

More MFD eggs!! These are from SQ stock. They are actually ones I lost an auction on before ordering the ones here now. These will come from CT so hopefully the usps will be kind.

I thought about that. I think I'm going to try to get ti done by sunday, hoping the rain will be scattered. I want them moved out by monday so I can go pick up the new chicks.

So, day 10 and I candled my eggs again and the eggs are still definitely all very dark, I wasn't able to see any vessels clearly BUT I did see clear and I dare say vigorous movement in at least two of the eggs! :weee
Boy, they sure did not like being upside down for candling! 8 days left til lockdown! I'm so excited!

I think maybe the light I'm using is less than ideal for candling.
