YO GEORGIANS! :)

Oh and @PapaChaz my AM boy is crowing

cool! how old are they? did he just start?

funny story, after flower telling me her daughter taught hers to crow, I was out there the other day and I looked at one of the roosters and asked why he didn't crow, and said do it like this, and crowed. He jumped back, looked at me like I'm crazy, BUT the other three were inside the coop and literally RAN outside to see what was going on......

The lighter one I'm planning on keeping was the first one out and was literally running right at me.

As for the candling thing and turning the eggs upside down. I was reading through the learning center the hatching 101 thread and just about every pic of eggs being candled showed them air sac down......I wondered how you supposed to trace the air sac if it's laying on the light. Plus somewhere else in the thread it warned about improper turning breaking the chalazae loose....... so a question, what kind of light do y'all use to candle with?

Oh, shoot. I knew I was forgetting something! I didn't trace my airsacks in the eggs! Thanks, Papa Chaz. I'll make sure I do it next time I candle.

This is the one that I use and I hold it to the top of the egg, shining it through the air cell.

Or in a pinch ... the flashlight app on my cell phone.

:lau

This reminds me of Walmart yesterday, when hubby corrected me for saying "Awesome Feed, Seed & Bicycle".. He said, "I don't know WHY you always say 'Awesome' when that's not even what it's called.. I drive by it every day and 'Awesome' is nowhere on the sign.."

We argued back and forth and finally I remembered the card I got at the swap. I *whipped* the buggy over to the side and dug through my purse til I found it.

"HA!!"

It was great.

Here's a question:

Today is day 20 and 7 out of 8 eggs has hatched. The one remaining egg hasn't pipped externally but has pipped internally. Do I worry about it since it's not technically late?? Or since all the others are here IS it considered lagging?

I use a really strong flash light and an empty toilet paper roll and I lay my eggs on their side so the light shines into the air cell and then look to the bottom of it and it shows veins and movement

hold the egg to your ear and tap on it and if you hear chirping I'd leave it and watch it closely
