YO GEORGIANS! :)

Robo, that's great about the quail eggs! I keep telling myself I need to stop hatching eggs, but I just keep setting them. Now someone may want me to hatch some Swedish Flowers for her so I am saving eggs from my two SF hens. Problem is, only one of my two Roos is a SF which means some may not be pure, but I will just sell the non pure ones as mixes to someone else . I can pretty much tell when they hatch. Anyway, I've got some eggs hatching now, and two more groups already in the bater and more in the turner waiting to be set. Ugh! Tell me to stop!!!!! :jumpy

Scoop out some shavings and leave the food. Let the feeder go empty, they'll eat it from the floor and voila, no waste. I did this and taught them to clean up after themselves....
yep you leave that dang feeder empty they will learn to scratch and feed plus cleaning and no waste my hubby finally understood this tonight when he watched them eat .

I try to name everything Bob. We had 3 turtles once named Bob, Little Bob and Bob Jr. GAMjr wouldn't let me name her horses Bob.
And now she has changed the turtle naming trend. She named one of the pond turtles at the farm ... Shelly.

Stop? STOP!!?? There's no stopping in egg hatching!!!

i understand how you feel my JUVENILES are doing the same thing what i do is go out and rake the dropping out and sture up the food left and di not replace so much food in the feeder it makes them have to scratch up left over baby food i i also just move the wheat straw off it and flip in another place to encourage scratching i sprinkle a little fresh food on top of the pile that i rake up this works most of the time all they need is to think you jave given a mess of fresh food each time sometimes you have to work around this and encourage a little ground scratching.

whew! if I had to read your posts out loud I'd pass out from lack of oxygen!!! LOL have you ever met any punctuation you like? hahaha.......

Ugh.. I have Got. To. Stop.

I was down to two trays.. Today's hatch, which is a dozen eggs, split 50/50 between brahmas and olives.. Then next weekend will be my less-than-half fertile shipped MFD plus a few others from my flock. That was gonna be IT.

BUTTTTT... Then I took a partial trade on my incubator for some lav orp eggs.

Sigh.... I have chicks EVERYWHERE! I'm not sure I could GIVE them away! And I'm not too far from being desperate enough!! :lau

Lesson learned for next year.. Either hatch on order only, or shut it down after easter..
