I worry if the chickens eat the dead flies will it hurt them so I don't use fly sprays and just work hard at keeping it clean to keep the flies down but sometimes especially after it rains it is impossible.I might just have to try that! I hate using chemicals in normal fly spray...
You just might be onto something. Hmmmm..it's a conspiracy they want to stay![]()
Thanks! I usually do this actually, but don't in this coop.. It's even the little ones popping each other though. Noticed that last night watching them. Just during feeding frenzies.Carcar you could try putting an upside down cardboard box with a hole cut out big enough for only the littles to run in. Flat rocks on top to keep it from being flipped over by the bigger ones. I saw it somewhere for "enrichment" on a trial based broiler farm deal but it might work for protection until they are a bit bigger. You'd have to make sure the littles are coming out to eat and drink though.
put more food trays out as if you didn't already think of thatThanks! I usually do this actually, but don't in this coop.. It's even the little ones popping each other though. Noticed that last night watching them. Just during feeding frenzies.
