YO GEORGIANS! :)

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi yall!" New here and just discovered the GA thread, makes me super happy! I'm in North GA.
Fairly new to this whole bird raising thing. We got two ducklings (one rouen, one mix) in May, then 5 light brahma chick's in June, then Wednesday we adopted a couple pekins....our crew grew VERY quickly, we are still learning & any advice or general info would be appreciated

Hi and Welcome. I am in Jasper

I went out to the coop this morning and could hear Blanche singing the egg song from the porch. False alarm!

And I sure was excited there for a minute. I guess they're getting close. I was in the run and reached down to pick up Rose and she squatted for a second. Hopefully, this is the beginning of the countdown. And Stanley Roosterface seems to be over his little attitude problem for now. I sit with him in the evenings until he falls asleep in my lap.

You can hang them on the front door or put them up in the basket hanging next to it. No need to overthink it, right?

but the last few days I've been checking and I'm not seeing an indication they're fertile. Thinking I'll wait a while, I'd had for you to crank up old bessie for eggs that ain't chicks yet. I'll give it another week or so

she may lay later in the day. I've had a couple do this too, and then after just going about my business and checking later, there they were!

Just got back from the farmers market. Sold 7 dozen chicken eggs and 1 dozen duck eggs in an hour! Yay! And, I had repeat customers telling me they were the best eggs ever! The best part about selling the eggs (other than getting money!) is getting room back in my refrigerator! LOL
