YO GEORGIANS! :)

We have the same thing happening soon! We have 4 or 5 week old EEs in 1 brooder, then I have the 1 lonely bantam in the baby brooder. Plus we have 6 hens and 1 mystery rooster (we think) LOL. I wonder if I can put the lonely bantam with the EEs maybe next week? I still think I am going to go buy 1 tomorrow to go with her! LOL

I probably won't be back ony side if town while Boss is open so that takes care of my urge to pick up more. I'm off Friday though. Ohh hoping they are sold out by then lol

All of you experienced hatchers I have a question for you. . . I have some huge brown eggs that I set on Tuesday so today is day 5, I candled them and can't even see an air cell. Is this because it is the dark brown shell and you just can't see them, or is it because they are not developing embryos, so there for no air cell needed?

I have had 2 hatches so far with a terrible hatch rate if none of these are viable then I want to take a time out and re-think my bator. I want my bator right, doing assisted hatching sucks!

Oh and if they aren't any good, since they have been in the bator with for 5 days are they still good to eat?

Hey guys! Haven't checked in in a while. But I was wondering if y'all have been having more predators around lately? I had a hen attacked Friday and I keep hearing about everyone around me having animals attacked

We have no idea what "it" is. We thought it may have been an opossum but then on Saturday we saw 2 stray dogs in the yard..well more like we saw our dogs running 2 stray dogs out of the yard then chasing them halfway down the road lol. We've been looking and checking and have seen nothing since. And there was no evidence in or around the pen as to what it was. But the hen (who has been named Kim) is separated and seems to be doing well

Get the 22 and sit outside you may see it and quit its murderous actions haha. It's what I would do.
Thats my kind of idea! My hubs puts me on target practice just for that reason. Debs55, our mini doxie was rough on our coop, so it could be a domestic dog, and in that case take the proper procedures!
