YO GEORGIANS! :)

Nice find, flower!! I keep hoping to find something like that from my MFD but they don't really have a place to hide them, lol.

Speaking of.. They were feeling quite photogenic at watering time just now. LOVE these little birds

Those are so pretty, but aren't they bantams with small eggs? I need big eggs for selling!

They're doing great! Up to 12 now with 2 speckled Sussex and 1 BLRW! I've finally convinced my boyfriend to let me have a rooster so come spring or summer we're going to be getting hatchable eggs! I'm thinking of doing a CCL or Olive egger so the chicks will lay colorful eggs.

(I'm going to try to talk him into us getting a trio of OEGB too! I just can't decide on a color yet.)

I have a lovely Olive Egger rooster that will need a home by spring, simply because he won't fit into my plans.
Very protective of the girls, but has always been great with me and the kids.

Well today I found these under my porch! Seems the four escape artist decided to lay outside the coop. Will probably feed them back to the chickens. Cracked and cooked of course.
Uh huh. These are the escape artists your hubby was trying to talk me into? They'd be showing my others how to escape.

Yes ma'am. I never wanted bantams either but just adore these, lol. I made sure to get nice stock so that hopefully I'll catch the interests of exhibitors, because I agree most people want bigger eggs. But I've heard of plenty of people using bantam eggs too!

I think I've found more BR eggs in Cville! Only having hatched seven this time, I'm worried I'll end up with just a couple of pullets. Don't want to wait too long to find out. So this gentleman says he is still getting three every couple days and will save some up. :D

We went to Rock City last night so the kids could see the Christmas lights. We turned onto the road that goes up the mountain where you have 3 miles left to go to get to the parking lot at 6:50. We walked through the door at the beginning of the trail at 9:00. (They close at 9 mind you) Over an hour to do that last 3 miles and then an hour standing in line to get in. Mrs Claus owes me!

I use the Bantam eggs for salads they are the perfect size, and I have a friend that has a g-daughter and I give some to her and she tells her gdau that my chickens laid them just for her!!!! Now I have bantam/LF cross and those eggs are bigger but not big as a LF small but still nice sometimes a large eggs is too big for a salad etc. Anyway Bantams are just really for pets very nice birds that love to be handled.

I am getting a little nervous. Will be going to my DD for an early Christmas. The renters who are coming in have agreed to collect eggs and feed the chickens. They just came by to let me show them what to do. Ummm, not feeling too good about the whole thing. Will probably lose some chickens. I usually lose something when I go out of town, and that is with my DH watching things. These are 'sitters' and they really have no knowledge of chickens!
