YO GEORGIANS! :)

LOL! That is great! I hope they all hatch for you.
I just thought, the search I did was on hatching eggs within 50 miles of me. I had searched a few days on all hatching eggs and never saw these. Makes me wonder what else I have missed.

Thanks so much. If all do hatch I will be selling quick! HAHA! I have no more room and shouldn't have been on there bidding on hatching eggs in the first place.

Maybe some of the ones I have will sell in time to make room for these.

Well, I finally went down and candled the eggs under one of the broodies. The eggs should have hatched by now. None of them were fertile.....poor hen. I should have candled them a long time ago, but just so busy I literally collapse at night. But, I decided to put the two viable eggs that are in the mini bator under her and let her hatch them out. So now she has real babies forming.

On a sad note, about two weeks ago I had a friend who wanted one of my olive eggers really badly. I finally decided she could buy one since I had two that were almost identical. Well, got up this morning and found my other olive egger dead! That is my luck! Ugh! The only thing that is a good thing, is that this summer I should be able to make my own olive eggers. I plan to put my young Lavender Ameraucana roos over my Copper Marans and I also want to put them over my other blue, green and white egg layers. Beau, my big Brahma can have the rest of the hens.

I have already ordered some new Silver Laced Polish, Speckled Sussex, Silver laced Wyandotte and a ??? (ha! I've forgotten the other ones!)

And, I want to order a few if Feathersaloft is going to order.

I just divided them up yesterday with the RIR on one side, everyone else in the other. Let me see how they lay over the next few days.
I have a customer who wants 4-6 dozen on Friday (every Friday) and I want to keep him happy :)

LOL, I want to fill my own incubator on the 24th for a Valentines Day hatch too.

I remembered that regular customer and that you got an awesome Christmas present

Even with all of the birds that you have there are only so many eggs. No worries but please do let me know if you do end up with extras.

If space really is an issue I could buy some of them from you. Eggs, not birds.

I may take you up on that. I have been talking with several people that may take chicks. Then again I have no way of knowing how many are fertile or if any will hatch. Do Barred Rocks lay year round?

"...The Barred Plymouth Rock chicken breed is well known as a strong dual-purpose chicken, as they are a good poultry breed for year-round egg laying as well as meat production..."

(had to look that up)

I looked a while back and probably got side tracked by seeing something else. HA! Thanks for that info!

I have one chicken that lays daily and that is my mixed bantam that lays a small large breed egg. Her mother is a BCM and her father was a Bantam RIR (We really didn't think mating was possible.) She looks like a bantam BCM and I have even been asked if she was a Bantam BCM. I don't think there even is such a breed but she is a great egg layer. She lays a pink egg everyday. She does have an attitude problem and rules her coop with an iron beak and she even rules over the roosters and the standard breed chickens. I have never seen anything like it. They all get out of her way. She lets my Speckled Sussex Rooster breed her but none of the other rooster, she will attack them if they try.

She has a beautiful copper neck but you can only see it in the sun. She does not allow pics so this one was taken with a zoom. LOL She has the attitude of a broody but all the time and she was just hatched in July.

My one barred rock hen is my ONLY hen that hasn't stopped laying this winter. In fact she has missed impressively few days on top of that.

That's funny... if my Barred Rock had not went through a hard molt then she would be still be laying but my frizzled bantam cochin is laying everyday. And my RIR every other day. ;)

I have a lovely Olive Egger rooster BCM over Ameraucana. Gentle and great with the girls, but won't let Dillon near them!
I don't want him to end up in a pot, he is very protective of the girls, and beat up my cat for walking too close.
I'm still trying to decide what to do with him. I might could put him in the juvenile pen for protection.
