YO GEORGIANS! :)

Check out these chickens. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1072095/sulmtaler-fertile-hatching-eggs-npip-91-182 I am seriously considering getting some of these eggs. Green Fire Farm sells the unsexed chicks at $29 a pop. And check out the size of the egg in the picture in the ad. Reading about these, they are dependable egg layers but also have some of the best meat of any chicken. They fed the Royals back in the day. I figure these will do well as free rangers.

Beautiful feathering on the roosters!

Papa and Mrs Chaz and I were just talking about the spring extravaganza today.. Also I think I've conned them into the CVPA show in Newnan next month, too.

we were discussing pulling our camper down to Chattahoochee Bend SP for the weekend that weekend and making a few days out of it. Except they wouldn't let me bring chickens back with me, LOL i'd have to bring them home

So I set my eggs... Cross your fingers for me since I did end up getting the LG. I couldn't find a place near me selling the hovabator at all, but I read up on tricks to make the LG work better. Hopefully they come out OK!

Depends. We've had roosters settle right in with the flock and we've had some that just would not stop fighting. Sometimes they will work it out once dominance has been established and then other times they just won't quit til one is dead (or close to it) or one gives up and runs away.

We have a lot of roosters given to us and we throw them out in the pasture for them to figure it out and there have been the aforementioned mixed results.

If I was going to get a new rooster to help with the hens, I would get a young one that isn't old enough to threaten the current rooster. In most cases, roosters that grow up together will get along fine.
Thanks for the reply. I've been reading for a few hours and that seems to be way to go.
Now I need to find a 6 month old Buff Orpington Cockerel. Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks!!!
