YO GEORGIANS! :)

Help? We were randomly given thus roo by a guy who didn't speak much english, can anyone tell me what breed he is? His tail has an irredescent green to it, feathers around his neck are more gold than the cream color it looks like here.
The guy told me "uhhh....chicken?"

picked up another still air incubator today to use to hatch out in. For the price of what all the components would have been, it was just a little more to buy it, it's already put together and ready to use. I also scored a used desk at the local consignment shop, for TWELVE DOLLARS!!!!!! to use as the table, plus the drawers to hold all my chick supplies! HAPPY HAPPY!!!

the one on the left has the turner and the eggs, the one on the right will just serve to hatch in

Score! I saw where someone took a desk similar to that and made a brooder out of it.

I been using totes for the first few weeks but its too cold to move them outside so now I have to build a big brooder to put in the garage. I have a coop/chicken tractor in the garage that is almost finished but I made it so tall that I cannot use it in my yard because its all hill. I was going to finish it and sell it for $1,200 but if someone would take it and finish it, I would let it go for $650 which is less than what I have in it. I think Feathersaloft is the only one that has seen it. Please spread the word!

We are neighbors, maybe we can help each other, I'm in Jefferson... Picked up 14 babies today and one is barely alive. I've been feeding her water every 30 mins or so at first that was working but within the last hour she just goes limp....poor baby.

If you google chicken stroller you can find some similar to that one. That picture is all over the internet.

That was the first thing I did as soon as I posted that response. I went straight to amazon & searched. Then I texted the pic to the husband and said "this needs to happen". He responded with "I'm surprised it hasn't already." LOL
I was thinking that one looks homemade.

Now that I see it on my laptop, I agree. I think I see zip ties.

but what if one of the FR was me?????????????????????????????????

although I will say I'm quickly losing my 'like' for FB too, (see what I did there?) it's always worse in election year too

I have cousins waiting for a request to be answered. The thing is, if you so much as fart, everyone on FB will see the activity and I don't want to be bothered. Although, I didn't realize people could still tag me, I hate that. I agree election years suck, but Ferguson killed it for me. At that point, as an act of defiance towards the uninformed masses, I changed all my social media profiles to proudpolicewife. But FB is a special kind of retarded animal and the anti-cop and anti-Catholic propaganda BS that goes on, makes me livid. Like, Dexter kind of livid. It was best I remove myself from the arena. I can put up with a lot, but there are some things that get under my skin so bad I cannot disengage. That is one of them. I know the husband is a grown man & can take care of himself, but I defend him (and his coworkers/colleagues all over the US), anyway. Vehemently.

He couldn't care less what people say/think. If he was on FB, he wouldn't likely react. In this relationship, he's the nice one. He's the patient one. He's the logical, practical one. I'm his polar opposite. BiPolar opposite to be exact. FB=bad idea for me. LOL
I'm convinced that FB will be the downfall of civilization.
Dawsonville has RIR chicks. Also has ducks, Cornish, and several of the sex-link chicks.

I think I've narrowed down my choices for the next additions to our flock. As usual, it's painfully specific and probably not doable. Not sure I'd be able to find an Isbar, but I definitely know I want a Crested Cream Legbar and another Buff Orpington. After seeing the Cochins at the show, I'd go for a Blue Cochin if I can't find an Isbar. I can't wait til we're ready and DH gives the ok.

We ordered the Broad-Breasted White poults and last time we had some, though they were older when we got them, they were well worth it. Very nice birds that produced very large amounts of meat when processed. I cheated and skinned them instead of plucking ... and the post process weight with skin, innards, etc. removed they each still weighed over 22 pounds.

The husband and I have discussed turkeys to raise for the table, but we couldn't make it happen this year. We are hoping for next year, but I'm kinda scared.

Gee, I wonder how many likes my special needs birdie could get? lol

(excuse the mess ... took the picture right before cleaning)

awww! so cute! I'd go on FB and risk detection just to like his/her little page.

That's adorable!

I am sad to say that my special chick passed away.

I think she might have had a mental issue as well, she did a lot of head bobbing and pecking at the air above the ground, without actually picking anything up.
