YO GEORGIANS! :)

Does the post office usually call you when baby chicks arrive? I have some being shipped today and I'm not 100% sure what to expect. I've never bought through the mail!

the last chick that hatched out last tuesday night didn't make it. I have to say I'm really surprised it lived almost a week. I think the hatch was just too hard on it. It seemed to be eating and drinking, but it really had a hard time walking without falling, and when it fell it had a hard time righting itself.

I've even been hand feeding it the last few days, it just never really started to grow or develop right. Had vitamin water fixed for it.

Definitely glad to have gotten the fan installed in the hatching bator. Have 11 AM eggs to lockdown this friday!

I locked down a dozen eggs at 11:00am this morning on day 19. When my wife picked up the first egg to move it from the turner we heard a peep. Two hours later this little guy was out and about. These are my BO eggs and this is a test hatch in the hova bator. I had a great hatch(24 of 25) in my homemade bator. I don't know why this one was so early but not complaining. I have 28 Cream Legbar eggs arriving Wednesday and have 40 more BO going in today.

It just decided it had more room out than in!!!!

I have great news, I won't have mutt eggs for the get together!!!! Silver Hill said I can get some BO eggs from him for the swap,

and I will have to decide which line of chicken I am going to get into, I used to do a RIR roo and a BO hen and they made a wonderful beautiful bird,

@carcar80 I haven't told you this, but I'm noticing 3 of the MFD with substantial combs and 3 that have no noticeable comb yet at all. Just over 6 weeks old now. Oh and for the record, the one that has the all black tail that I thought would be boy? it's one without a comb yet..... so much for my guessing ability!
