YO GEORGIANS! :)

I know this is gone back and forth over.. But aside from the fact that humidity sounds high to me, sometimes also just the sudden jump IN humidity can cause condensation to form in the air sac, which is no good, regardless of whether the humidity is too high or not.

I went down on my humidity until lockdown. But I thought it was supposed to be around 70 for the actual hatch?
UGH!

What do you use for humidity level at lockdown?

So yesterday I went to daughter's baseball game, then drove to Canton to sell some pigeons and then buy a rooster. (Yes, another rooster)

I wore my new shirt from Teespring. This reminded me of meeting CarCar and Oohlala from this group at the McDonough TSC swap, and looking for ShadesofSable for a while, before finally messaging and realizing she was standing in front of me, and we had even talked earlier.

We really need some type of group ID. A shirt, a secret handshake, nametags, SOMETHING!

I have the Yes, I really do need all these chickens shirt, and wow was it good for me.
I had someone at baseball ask if I sell eggs, I was able to direct them to my farm Facebook page, and then the same thing happened when we stopped to eat in Canton.
And yes, both people did go and "like" my farm page. :)

Herre is the next one I want to buy...

I know, what I'm saying is, the jump from your pre-lockdown humidity to 70+% is a BIG jump to make all at once. I won't get into the lockdown humidity debate simply because it depends on your particular setup (not saying you're starting it either, just for lack of a better word than "debate" ;) ).. But for my cabinet (circulated air) I do 50-55%

I'm using a styrofoam Farm Innovators (hubby is building a cabinet incubator soon).
Would you suggest raising the humidity in stages?
I am trying to learn, but there is so much conflicting information!!

if you mean Justin, I can pick up if he has any close to the time of the cookout.

I'm feeling sad. Nothing going on in my incubator today, day 22. I kept humidity around 30-35% until lockdown, and then upped it to 70-75%

Temperature has stayed constant at 99.5, every time I've looked at it.

This is my BW Ameraucanas, EEs and RIR for a trade. UGH!

I use calibrated meat thermometers, one set up as a wet bulb.
Not giving up yet, maybe I missed something and will have babies pop out today or tomorrow. But not hearing ANYTHING from the incubator.
Yup I mapped it from my house to Justin's its over 2 1/2 hours one way. That's a bit to go for 3 girls/ 1 roo for an extra breed to my flock, a want not a need thing. I wish my ebay eggs were good, but over half wern't even fertile to begin with and the shell quality was questionable (all blotchy). Even with my incubator humidity issues the Maran ebay eggs still hatched. Speaking of which I'm wondering if the weather had a lot to do with it. I have an older home and since the weather is now warmer the cleaned out and re set incubator is holding it's humidity level without the major drops I was experiencing. I've set some Mottled Cochin eggs from my girls to test it out.

Wow just looked at the Tshirt link's, I totally believe they are in tune with chicken owners. The only rub is now I have 3 runner ducks oh and my dogs and cat and fish lol. Okay I think they need to have a Noah's Ark kind of version, I would feel guilty wearing those shirts without some honorable mention to my other animals Oh and I guess hubby and my kids. Oh never mind I'll just appreciate the shirts and live in denial.
