I have good luck with the Peck No More lotion at TSC I believe it is.. Birds HATE the taste of it. Every one I've ever seen get a nose full of it is too busy wiping their beak in the dirt to peck anymore lolQuestions: Is there a better way to prevent this from getting worse? Can I bandage it without drawing more negative attention that makes them go batshit & tear it off? Or without it driving him crazy?
For WEEKS I've been trying to heal it but they keep pecking the scab off. At least 3 times now. I'm cleaning it and putting blu-kote on it but it seems that's not enough. I've also been keeping the roos separated from the hens during the day. The boys get the bigger yard. This only happens when they're confined to the coop run for a bit. As in, just during the rainy part of the day. My biggest concern is risk of infection. Not to mention my handsome little man's comb looks a hot mess.
