YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hatch is done. Only TWO eggs didn't hatch.. The one I knew wouldn't and one other that did that weird, "pip on the side of the egg then smother" deal.. Hate that.

Anyway. Four or five of them were glued in the shell, I'm assuming from a spike in humidity while the others hatched..? Still not sure how to control that. But anyway they're fine after a little help getting unstuck.

Anybody close have 6-12 duck eggs that I can get today or tomorrow? I made sure that I had an incubator ready for this class (special needs kids) but I have no eggs ... my ducks have started hiding everything. Argh!!!
I have a dozen you can get for the class, want to meet me half way tomorrow afternoon? They'll be some of all I have. I can bring you your other bator too

ok editing to say I read farther through and realized you just want duck eggs.

The neighbors told me the other day there's a nest of snow geese eggs by their lake, want me to go steal ya some?

I'd say you can have some of mine, but we live so far away and my Khaki Campbell is sitting on a pile of them, so only finding one or two a day now.  Let me know if you want me to save them for you.

I didn't know you had ducks. We have a pond and my husband wants ducks. I have no idea I'd keep them? Coop near the pond?

You have ducks?
the way the DW is always throwing stuff, I have GREAT ducks..............

ba dum tisssssssssss

bahahaha

Oh, we came in from going to get something to eat, and I have 2 eggs pipped! day 19 and 2 pipped. I took them out of the turner yesterday morning before leaving for church, and opened up the water pan a little to slowly bump the humidity up. Seeing the pips, I went ahead and opened it enough to get it into the mid 50s range, and misted the eggs with my spray bottle (thanks for the tip GAM)

I have to say the full glass door on the wine cooler bator is really going to be great for watching the hatch.

Now, what did I do with that box of cigars......

Sure ... I am good at playing dumb. (shut up, Robo)

All of our ducks free-range. No coop. We have nest boxes and dog houses around the place ... or they go under the barn or wherever the *bleep* they are going now to lay.

Our ducks go out of the run every day and head to the lake. Then, they come back and sleep with the chickens in the coop which is closed up every single night to keep them safe from predators. When we build our new coop, the ducks will have their own area just because they can be so 'wet'! If you want some of these ducks my KC is sitting on, let me know. Of course, that will be another 25 days from now! Most my ducks are Indian Runner ducks....that means they won't fly away!

oh, posting a pic to show what I meant about the glass door

humidity is already up from 41 to 45 in about 15 minutes. The 2 that are pipped are in the back on the left side, some of the white ones. These are australorp rooster over white leghorn hens. Hoping to get some pink layers out of these :)
