YO GEORGIANS! :)

So, we went to FL and had our early Christmas. Spent one whole day at Epcot. Wow, that was a day full! And, the 80 degree weather was perfect! Had a great time with everyone!

Then, DH and I had the first annual gingerbread barn decorating contest. Here are some of them! We had 5 random teams and had prizes and all!

All the animals are doing great. Our renters did a great job with them! Now, time to sell some of the chicks!

So, on the way home, we stopped at the lady's house who had the Brahma eggs. She only had 5 Blue Partridge Brahma eggs, so we bought some Isabel Cuckoo Orpington eggs, too. We will sell most of whatever hatches. So, while we are there, DH sees a lot of big roosters like Beau. Only one was AS big as Beau was but the lady wouldn't sell that one,. DH glazed over and had to have a full grown rooster right then! I told him I wanted to hatch the eggs and 'grow' my own big rooster! I told him we would have problems with introducing a full grown rooster with our other full grown rooster.....do you think he listened? NOOOOOO.....he had to buy one! So, we carried a rooster in the car for our 8 hour trip home. Now he wants to just throw the new rooster in with all the others! I told him we needed to keep him separated from the others for a while to make sure he is ok and then we will have to go slow and let them get use to seeing each other...... DH just doesn't understand that one could kill the other.....OMG, I just remembered the babies are still outside....gotta go.

I can't believe he did that.... man. There is no reasoning with some guys.

I do hope the new roo is as calm and sweet as Beau was. You'll have to share some pictures of him as soon as you go get those babies in out of the cold! Your early Christmas looked epic! I'm totally jealous. :)

The new boy.

So, we put our new rooster in the coop one night then went out to see how things were going. Here is what we found:

New rooster's side. He is in the middle of the middle roost. LOL!

Here is our other rooster, Roger, with only 2 hens on his side! Poor Roger! We put some more hens on his side and then closed the doors between the two rooms for the night. So, I guess the hens like the new guy a lot!

This is a not so great picture of Mr. Gold my Brahma roo. He is looking for a new home. Free to anyone who won't eat him. I will take some better pictures tomorrow if anyone is interested. He's no show bird, and has a bald spot where he was beat up as a chick. But he's a nice guy and really big.
