YO GEORGIANS! :)

400

So this is what has been under my feet for the pass few days. My Bantam Bramha (teacup) has been by my side anytime I'm out in the chicken yard.

Hey everybody; remember that the Newnan show is this week..............
-hope to meet some of the folk from Yo, Georgians!

I'll be there Sat morning. Probably be wearing my 'Chickens Make me happy' shirt. May wear my 'Yo Georgian! Name tag. Look for me. I'm bringing Lady Who with me and I think GAM is going to try to go.

OMG!!! TOO CUTE!!!

GAM< what type of goats do you have? And, why do I need one?

Nigerian Dwarf Goats ... and because you just do. Hahaha. They are amazing at clearing land. And they are such sweet babies. And if you have any interest in goat milk ... http://www.betterhensandgardens.com/whats-so-great-about-dwarf-nigerian-goat-milk-anyway/
@GAMarans I'm going to get a little pot bellied pig tomorrow, it's supposed to be just a few weeks old and DH has no clue, so do you have room for me at your farm,

or I could send the pig to ya, don't know the sex, friend of a friend's daughter brought it home and the dad has put his foot down. If my DH asks for info on divorce attorney's no one give him any, lol Can't claim it as a valentine gift he already took me to dinner and had Sherri's berries delivered on Sat. I forgot it's supposed to be a mini PBP

I think you should save your marriage and send it to me.

We will be there.

Very pretty! Gamefowl intrigue me, I'll admit. Do people keep them only for show? Aside from others, obviously... but don't they lay tiny eggs? And there's not much meat. I guess no different from keeping bantams though.

The eggs aren't the largest but they taste the best to me. Since they're such prolific foragers I assume that lends to the quality. That also means I spend less on feed. Haven't eaten one yet but I'll let yall know how it is off the smoker.

I'm glad you have a firm understanding of chicken math
I like them cause they are really cute and we just have them as pets and I hard boil the eggs and put them on salads. Course they think they are 10 feet tall and bullet proof

By math I'm assuming the number of hens per cock, eh? Whatever they lack in terms of predatory capability is certainly made up for in attitude. I'm pretty sure those noises he makes when I walk by aren't an expression of his affection.

ok, his chest feathers are blue

Got any pictures? Sounds like one of those coalminer mugs. Beautiful birds.

My buddy has some game hens that live outside year round. He throws them some scratch every couple days and that's it. They pretty much live entirely off the land. He keeps an eye on them as he's working out and about and doesn't have much trouble finding their eggs. :)
