Just means you have to put a few in the pot, rather than the one. We don't eat ours, not unless one turns mean and that's extremely rare. I think we've only eaten one rooster over all these years. After raising chickens and seeing that they are more intelligent, dignified and complex than most people give them credit for, I am less and less inclined to eat them, but that's just me. I still buy the commercial CornishX chickens, or rather, my husband does. Me, I don't care if I ever eat meat again, don't have the taste for it and usually, I don't like the texture. (except for bacon. baconbaconbaconbaconbacon!).

 
Is there a place that rents pluckers? I've got 34 birds to process when they get big enough and that sounds like a whole lot of plucking.
The one that I use is pretty far from you ... check Craigslist. I see them advertised for rent there from time to time.
 
Ok so i laughed so hard today at my girls...I gave them some fresh fish eggs today, a reward for having to stay cooped up all day. They were hilarious running around trying to get the piece the others had...I am going to video it tomorrow and post!
