Yep, my wife is Vietnamese and eats duck eggs like that. Kinda makes me want to hurl. :)

Added 27 new FBCM chicks today from a new bloodline, so it looks like building a few new pens is in my immediate future. We have a FBCM cockerel that someone is welcome to have for free. I live in Carroll County, so you will need to meet me or my wife Lisa somewhere locally. We hatched him 2/17. He's on the smallish side, but for his age he's already developing nice copper-colored hackles. PM if interested.

Also added 5 Appenzeller Spitzhauben chicks (three golden-spangled, two silver-spangled) today. They're a somewhat exotic breed, so we added them for fun and for something different. They're beautiful chickens when fully grown, and people who have the seem to like them, but we're not sure if we'll keep them.

Earlier today we spent a lot of time with the chickens as they free ranged under a large maple tree. They LOVED hunting and eating all of the seeds that the storm and the squirrels knocked down out of the tree. Today was just a great day.

Don't let the girls sleep in the laying boxes, bad habit and you end up with dirty eggs
