. I know that you are excited. I do not have any chickens old enough to lay and set yet. I believe that the chicks do much better when hatched by a hen. I ordered some chicks from Murray McMurray. They arrived Wednesday. One passed away before they got here, one was weak and only lived a couple of hours, one had legs that he couldn't stand on and one passed away the first night. McMurray refunded my money but that didn't help my hurt over the little chicks. My husband said that we are not going to order anymore in the mail. The chicks that made it are cute though.

When my wife brings home chicken-related surprises, I just give her a look, and then laugh it off. She's enjoying herself, and I'd rather see her happy than sad and complaining, so I just go with it.

The down side is that the honey do list gets longer and longer, but she helps with that as well, so it's all good.

I've ordered from them with no problems. Cute! What kind did you get?

That's exactly my husband's problem. He's a much better carpenter than I am and prefers to build their houses since he does it nice, but also doesn't want to keep building new coops and runs.

six EEs, three Buff Brahmas, two Porcelain, and 4 game. All bantams. I ordered from them about ten years ago and didn't have any problems. I don't know why there was so many weak and one dead and one with legs spread out on the floor. It was strange to me also and very disappointing.

Just went out to take a peek under my broody! All six eggs hatched! I think it's funny that these eggs came from 6 very different chickens and all the chicks are black and look alike! Can't wait to get a closer view to see if they are feather legged or not!
