YO GEORGIANS! :)

I want to try quail at some point. My husband doesn't think it'd be worth the effort. We'll see.

I processed 7 more chickens today, this time by myself. It took forever and I'm burned. 12 more to go. :p But I did get to have fun in the pool after and we shot off a bunch of fireworks. Pretty good 4th of July. Hope you all had a good one.

The farm-raised coturnix quail I processed had no smell when gutting and cleaning, but maybe wild-game bob whites do. I've never hunted wild quail or woodcock, so I don't know the answer on that one.
Woodcock, dove, quail...none of it has a discernible smell to me. But I sure do like them smothered in gravy over rice or smoked with some bacon & jalapeño!

So on the 15th don't forget to wear your shirts!!! For our Newbies livhatcher made some shirts just for our group and she still has some more very nice so if your interested PM her.

You are sweet to remind folks, but I'm out! I do like them bc it helps us identify each other as crazy chicken people that we sorta kinda know from the internet vs. bog standard crazy chicken people :lau
