YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hatch #1 Final: 8 Jubilee Orpingtons, 1 Mottled Orpington - ALL SOLD

Hatch #2 Final: 2 Black Silkies, 2 Ayam Cemani - Silkies SOLD. The ACs are $25 each. PM if interested. BTW, the new Silkie boys and the ACs look identical except for one feature: The Silkies have feathered leg shanks and feet. The A/Cs don't.

Hatch #3 Update: The 27 remaining Muscovy hatching eggs are now in lockdown.

Hatch #4 Update: Final candling for the second batch of ACs tonight.

A few people have asked me about the chickens I have left, so I'm going to post that information here:

First, all cockerels that I don't find homes for will be processed for meat this weekend, so I'll need to hear from you very soon if you're interested in one or more. I hate to process any of these birds because many were either our breeding stock or our pets, but they all must go.

Second, all sold birds need to be either picked up or delivered before September 1st. If that doesn't work for you, please don't commit to buy. We will be moving September 1st, and I will be preoccupied setting up our new home for a couple of weeks thereafter.

I have buyers lined up to buy almost all pullets of each breed in the event I don't sell the cockerels. However, if someone takes a cockerel, I will give that person preference for buying a pullet. For example, if someone takes one Chocolate Orpington cockerel, that person will also also be given preference to buy one Chocolate Orp pullet for $25 or one CCL pullet for $25.

Here's the remaining available stock:

(All pullets are $25 each and cockerels are free unless listed otherwise.)
Black Satin Silkie w/ silver-tipped hackles - 1 pullet ($15)
Birchen Satin Silkie - 1 cockerel (Free)
Chocolate Orpington - 2 pullets, 5 cockerels
Chocolate Cuckoo Orpington - 1 cockerel (Large, docile, beautiful bird! Free!)
Crele Orpington - 1 pullet, 3 cockerels
Crested Cream Legbar - 3 pullets, 1 cockerel
French Black Copper Marans - 4 pullets, 5 cockerels
Painted Sizzle Silkie - 1 pullet
White Bearded Silkie - 2 cockerels ($25 each)

Please PM me if interested.

The Muscovy are starting to hatch! First time with ducks. I see one pip and hear a whole lotta tapping.

BTW, fun fact about Tallapoosa, GA: The town's original name was Possum Snout. Only in Georgia! :lau

I put the eggs in lockdown, yet forgot to turn off and remove the egg turner. :he

Oh well, what hatches hatches. I'm not going to stress over it.

Here is some info about Coop Dreams. Our coop episode is tomorrow!!!

I hope you get a recording of it. I don't get the channel that carries the program!

Candled second batch of Ayam Cemani hatching eggs tonight (day 15). Out of the remaining 11 eggs, one looks iffy, but the rest look great. I'm having terrible hatches lately, so :fl.

Hatch Update: Muscovy pip on one egg is getting larger, but no hatchlings as of yet. Hopefully a big day tomorrow.

I don't know about Muskovies but my KC's took forever after pipping to totally hatch out. Guess I'm used to the quail. Nothing, turn around and there they are laid out panting.
