YO GEORGIANS! :)

I believe Cutie Pie and Flurry are thinking about going broodie at the same time.

They weren't too keen on posing for me. These are the two pullets I have left from the egg swap and who will be joining my cream legbar layers soon. So pretty! The guy who picked up some other pullets from me really wanted these too, but I couldn't give them up.

Apparently I can not rely on the Alerts here to be truthful regarding activity here. I have had no alerts regarding posts in this thread yet I am weeks behind. Argh!

Sad day for me. It's our first time bringing goats to the processors. They were born here and I intended to sell them, but they're boys and I got no buyers. I can't give them away since I put money in them for 9 months. So it's the best decision. Just hurts a bit. I cried when my first chicken was killed, cried when it was time for my first pigs to go to the processor too. I like not buying meat from the store, but sometimes this is hard.

Those two look so cute together side by side. No surprise that Cutie Pie is going broody. She had such strong maternal instincts once she started to lay. I remember her hiding her eggs under the pine shavings and becoming very distressed when I would remove them. She is such a pretty thing (and so is Flurry.)

Hi GAM. Yes, the BYC software notification feature seems to be degrading and not improving. I also rarely receive any alerts.

@Mylied I know that has to be tough because your goats are more like pets than livestock. I've had birds that I could not process, so I imagine that it's even tougher with goats.

When I was in Haiti, goat meat was the only meat we could buy at a reasonable price. The only place I've seen it sold in GA is at the Dekalb World Market. If you find your processed goats too difficult for you or your family to eat, PM me, and maybe we can work something out. BTW, goat offal is good as well, so I hope the person doing the processing saves them for you.

Got home from Florida......went to put the eggs in lockdown.....I HEAR PEEPING!!! So, candled them while putting them in the carton and most have already pipped internally! Baby chicks soon!
