YO GEORGIANS! :)

You'll need to hurry. The egg won't be good for long. Be sure to store it point side down and rotate it from side to side several times a day. Don't wash it and keep it in a cool place..
We don’t have a way to incubate it. It’s the 6th day anyway so I think that the hatching rate isn’t very high. We’ll crack it tomorrow and see if it was indeed fertile.

Feeling good. Sold 11 chicks/chickens today! Mostly roosters and young cockerels and mostly Naked Necks. I sold my wonderful NN rooster, Poindexter. Sad about it but I was hatching over 50% NN babies and they don't sell well. People think they are too ugly. Boo! I think they are adorably ugly. So now I won't be hatching so many NNs! And, I only have 16 chicks left. Most are girls! But, those are the ones that just hatched so I will grow them out a little bit and see what I have. Will sell about half of those and then no more chicks until next spring!

Yal, I seriously feel like crying!:hit:hit
The egg that I had mentioned earlier I believe is indeed fertile. Today was day 8 so the hatch rate had dropped considerably. I now want to get an incubator so this never has to happen again! Today is a sad, sad day..

I went to put up the ducks in the early evening and noticed one didn't come back from the lake. Went looking for her. Found her floating close to the shore of the lake....her head completely gone! They only go to the lake in the day and are locked in the coop at night. This was a young duck...about 3 months old. So sad. Not sure what happened to her!

Oh no! This makes me nervous to take our ducks to our pond. We just got them a 300 gal stock tank (I only have 5 ducks) which they love but I would love to take them to the big pond from time to time (they cannot have unsupervised access as it is in the backyard where our dogs run around). If it was a snapping turtle, we try to keep them out but no guarantees. Poor girly! Sorry for your loss!
