YO GEORGIANS! :)

I'm moving back down to Georgia from Washington and have to move my ducks too ^^; I started a thread about it but was referred back here. I'm gonna be in an area near Mauk, does anyone there have ducks/advice about keeping them? I'm just worried they'll suffer because of the heat and lack of forage on the new place.

I don't know anything about the area you're moving to but lots of people keep happy healthy ducks and chickens over here on the Savannah side of Georgia. Just make sure they have plenty of access to shade and water out of direct sunlight as well because it will heat up quickly.

I have never lived there but went there I would recommend preparing for rain

Anyone in southern Georgia, I am in Tallahassee Florida and really need to shrink my flock down! I have 2 white leghorn's, 3 buff Minorca (I think) a golden campine, a black Minorca, and some speckled Sussex that I am willing to part with. Please let me know if you would like one or more of these birds. They are 1 yr old and laying. Good girls I just don't have the space for all of them. Chicken math got me good!

I'm kinda in south Georgia (Atlanta to specific) but I couldn't take your birds im sorry I'm going to be moving and just gave all my birds to a rescue farm in Jasper called flyn farms. Good luck finding a home for your birds.

Anyone in the Douglasville (W Atlanta) area have a rooster they're looking to rehome? Ours was killed by a neighbor's pit bull. :( (He was such a good boy, too - great with people and so protective of his girls, he managed to keep all of them safe even when he lost his life.)

Oh no! So sorry for your loss. :hugs

I have 5 month old - White Leghorn, Brown Leghorn - few of each and only one Welsummer. I am just south of you in Palmetto.

Too bad you aren't closer to the Savannah side. I was hunting for leghorn hatching eggs around here but had to order them online because nobody local seems to have any.
