YO GEORGIANS! :)

I just came home to four little fluffy butts, huddled together in the incubator! Three EE's (already sold too) and one silkie cross (from the hen that passed away to possum slobber).

But best of all, for the first time since separating them from the rest of the flock, I just got an egg from a silkie hen! My first (guaranteed) purebred silkie egg, EVER!

I just really, really, really hope it's my white hen. I want so many more of those! They just look like giant cotton balls!

Congratulations on the fluffy butts, and on your Silkie egg! I wish my girl would start laying again; her last five eggs were the ones that were hatching out today.

I'm so sad and angry I can't even see straight. My beautiful home grown babies are gone, every single one. I went to take care of my animals at our little farm (separate property from our house), and my husband called to say that my chicks were gone and there was just shells everywhere. My Australian Shepherd got into the incubator and ate them all. While my husband was home. I don't know who I'm more mad at, him for not keeping the dog away from the incubator, the dog for just being himself, or me for not being sure that the dogs couldn't get to the incubator :he:hit

GRRRRRR!!!!

I have never wanted to drive someone out of an "industry" so bad before. But I wish I could get ONE particular chick-seller off of craigslist, already!
