my ameraucana bantam hen started hatching her eggs last night, 6 so far with more to come.

Hhhmmm....wonder if I cross a white egger in if that would clean it up to be more blue.....

White would actually kinda dull the colors a bit. The best way to clean it up would be to keep only the ones that hatch from the bluest of blue eggs. Don't keep any that hatch from greenish eggs. The less green, the better. I'd just try to select the ones closest in color to this ad.

I have one male and three females right now. I don't plan on breeding all of those together, as it results in some curly-feathered and those feathers are SO fragile!

The colors are black, blue, and black and brown. The daddy was a solid black, but passed away to another predator. I'm getting some solid whites this coming April. So before long, I'll probably have a huge rainbow of frizzles! LOL!

My goal anyway is to breed them out, and get frizzle into my other breeds. It's impossible to find a "frizzle sumatra" and I'd be really interested in seeing what a Frizzle PHOENIX would look like! So I have to use what I have.

lol frizzles are spoilt babies . we are lookin for some paints or partridge. my wife loves em. has everybodys chickens went layin crazy? ours has. we have wheaten blue wheaten ams n glw n silkies n maran in inc now. yesterday we got a dozen eggs.

Well. I wish mine would! I've only had two SL laying consistently through winter.. One other SL I think had JUST started laying before winter and quit. My BO hasn't yet started so I think once it warms up she'll start. And my AM I have yet to see an egg from, but I just got her a month ago and she's not well socialized, on top of AMs not really being winter layers anyway.

I did find a soft shell egg in the coop the other night, so I think someone is gearing up to start.

All of my large fowl except 2 pullets are laying but only 2 of my silkies are laying.

Same here, all of my large fowl are. I collected NINE eggs yesterday out of nine hens.

But only one of two silkies is laying.
