YO GEORGIANS! :)

Got my 12 olive Blue/Splash Orp eggs from Lockedhearts today. Going in the 'bator tomorrow morning, along with 11 from mine and a possible Turken egg from a friend. Also picking up 12 Dominique eggs from (another) friend tomorrow to add.

one definete crested! Don't think I had enough humidity throughout incubation/lockdown bein my big problem, but 20/26 made it to lockdown. Havin my timetable off surely didn't help

Hi all, been a few days since i was in this thread, wanted to say hi again. I picked up a few new hens Monday evening, 3 ameraucanas, and a buff orp! got our first bluish/green egg yesterday, i really didn't expect to get any eggs from the new girls for a few days, i guess she just couldn't hold it in! LOL....
when i built my new coop/run last week, i built in dividers in both the coop and run. currently i have 8 chicks in one side of the coop. i've separated my roo and lone remaining buff orp in that side run outside, have a tarp over part of it to keep them out of the rain, and they have a roost. and am letting the 4 new girls have the other side of the coop and run. hopefully they will 'get to know' each other through the wire and i won't have a lot of fighting when they get together, they don't seem to pay a lot of attention to each other for now. i know that will change when they're actually able to contact!
Nancy, I am wondering if you have any ameraucana roo's. i'm thinking i'm going to rehome the roo i have now, and pick up a roo that will hopefully breed with my two brown-red and one wheaten ameraucana hens. i wouldn't care if he's young and not crowing or fertile yet...can ya let me know please? if not, do you know anyone who might have? Still planning on making a trip down there soon, i want to see the farm!
ok, going to go back to bed and see if the aching back has eased enough to let me sleep a few hours....

Good morning fellow Georgia Peeps. I discovered I have a guard cat yesterday. I was awaken yesterday to a screaming cat and chickens going crazy "I free range". Went outside to investigate and there was a large black cat trying to attack my chickens.

To my surprise however, my outside cat Lexis was attacking the black cat every time he went after my chickens. I like to think Lexis was protecting the chickens but regardless guess its time to rid my property of stray cats..... I thought coyotes would be my nemesis...

Good morning Everyone! I'm on the line between SC and Georgia so I decided to keep a foot in each state thread, don't want to miss anything! My chicken addiction is growing so big it covers 2 states!

Have a blessed day...Looking forward to a warm up, drizzly and cold,,,,eeew.......but the farm work continues and for that we say PTL! Got my BLRW 12 Chicks for Foley's today. I have 10 ordered from Jesse Paul should get them soon. Yea Can not wait till they grown up. They are going to make a great new flock. I am raise up 10 from my flock and going to pick the best ones to make my next years flock. I have the NPIP people coming tomorrow. Boy did the year go by fast. I have so many chicks grown up it is crazy around here. I have keep all my 8 and 9 eggs out of my flock of BCM so they will be added to my flock next year. I have BBS silkies for Bobbi Porto, Three Cedars Silkies, Ms.FuzzyButts and three teenagers from SunshineSilkies. I have some show quality BBS Cochin for Cathy peters. Gold lace Cochin from Dick Horstman. Have some silver laced egg order from Dick Horstman. Hope to get some partridge too. I have some split lavender Orpington from Cathy Peters, and some Prue Orpington chicks from my flock to improve that project. I have Lavender Ameraucana chicks from Yvonne37894 and CRYSTALCREEK also have some of CRYSTALCREEK splits/Lavender chicks to improve the project. And my Beautiful Lemon Blue Cochin chicks from Hodges farm and Sugar Sand Farm. I am still looking for show quality Millie Fleur D'uccle to add to my flock. I am going to show in a Bantam show in April so I hope I find some there. But is alot of fun to want them all grown. I have lots of chicks for sale now and hatching eggs. Come visit both farms and bring the kids. Will have a egg hunt for the kids too.
