Silkies ... Pekins ... Mallards ... all looking good.  (Well, one Silkie egg has the red ring of death but the others are looking fantabulous!)

I'm sure the Marans are doing great, too ... they always do.  :D

And the big ole alien is settling in well.  LOVE her noises.

For a moment, I thought you were the one that bought chicks from me this morning! Then I remembered that was Lauren. Her last name also started with a W though, which is what got me.

Do we ALL make an oath every day, not to candle again until day #x, and then break that oath the very next afternoon? Or is that just me? :/

By the way, the teacher from Conyers that contacted me wanting eggs...

She's covering FIVE total 1st grade classes, so she needs about 100 eggs to hatch (20 per class). But they moved the set week to April 11th. That's pretty far in advance, so if any of you think you can spare some eggs around then, let me know, and I can pass on the information.

Since they are doing it for a class, there is a chance that you could probably ask for the chicks back (or at least most of the chicks) once the eggs are hatched. I can only imagine the trouble this lady may have with 100 newly-hatched chicks and a bunch of first graders who can't keep them.

I gave up making that promise to myself. I candle every day when night falls (so I can see inside the egg without locking myself in a closet).
