YO GEORGIANS! :)

This is exciting; everyone's eggs and babies are arriving and we have new chicken peeps to talk shop and trade with!

I tried to post earlier today from the farm, but my phone did something weird and the whole thing disappeared, so here's the short version:

I spent the afternoon in the bunny barn -good therapy for the blues I've had -and I got to be a midwife for an exhausted San Juan doe. She had ten, but the last few ended up near the edge of the box, getting chilled and not cleaned off. I cleaned them for her and warmed them, then tucked them in with others. Just as I settled in to my chair again, the other San Juan doe started pulling fur. She's really dragging her labor out -just checked her a few minutes ago and still no kits, but the nest is done.

So my wife calls me to tell me her eggs are in Atlanta then gets off the phone to email more of you crazy chicken people. I swear if I could lay an egg shed like me more.

Is that the San Juan Doe? She is a pretty one...good for meat or not? I likes meh some bunnies, but not on a long term basis.

How are they on cost per lb if they are meat bunnies? I am interested in raising a few for meat. Teach me....lol
