So curiosity got the best of me and I cracked 1 of the huge brown eggs I had, open l and they are viable!!! So I guess I have to run on faith for this hatch because the shell is so dark and thick candling them is pointless. Any advice on this hatch would be great! All of you experienced hatchers I have a question for you. . . I have some huge brown eggs that I set on Tuesday so today is day 5, I candled them and can't even see an air cell. Is this because it is the dark brown shell and you just can't see them, or is it because they are not developing embryos, so there for no air cell needed?
I have had 2 hatches so far with a terrible hatch rate if none of these are viable then I want to take a time out and re-think my bator. I want my bator right, doing assisted hatching sucks!t o
I have my 22 243 in my room so whenever my dog gets to yapping (his name is Buster a 1/2 shorthaired 1/2 longhaired dashcund.![]()
This is him so I grab one of the two and head outside but it's mainly deer. We have had a skunk get under our carport and spray my neighbors dog. It doesn't smell like roses either.

Our dogs (a chocolate lab and a beagle) usually take care of anything that comes in the yard. But they are getting old and don't hear as well as they used to so they're slipping alittle. Cute pup by the way
What kind of incubator are you using?
awe! We had a long haired black and tan, but he didn't mix with the chickens and was getting rough with our girls, so we just found him a new home. Seeing your pic makes me miss him!I have my 22 243 in my room so whenever my dog gets to yapping (his name is Buster a 1/2 shorthaired 1/2 longhaired dashcund.
