YO GEORGIANS! :)

Good morning to you too!  I have a busy day....we rent our home out as a vacation rental and we have people coming in today.  We have to move all our stuff out of the house and into the apartment.  All the refrigerator/freezer, clean all baths, windows, beds, floors, etc.  And, they are coming by noon!  Ugg!  Here is our website if you want to see it.  http://www.vrbo.com/438003?bedrooms=4&sort+by=Sleeps%2fDescending  Once they are here, I will have some free time.  Yea!

OMG!!!! I want that house!

OK got six of the twelve runners we went to pick up. My buddy decided to keep more than he first wanted to...

Here they are with their new "mom"

Brrr what a cold turn we have here in Georgia. Funny I rushed home from work worried about my two newly outed Amereraucanas to find them happily foraging in their run. What is the secret to training them to go back up the ramp into their coop, especially at night? They kind of sort of have the down thing (one better than the other). They spent a few days in the coop with no run time, and they will settle in when I put them in at night (about like toddlers). I installed a Pull-it-shut door (works just like it's supposed to and was supper easy to install). They nestled in the coop near the door after I put them back in for the 2nd time (just like trying to get my kids to bed). They nestled in and watched the door close, then open for the stragglers and then close again as advertised. They did not try to come back out then.

Okay so back to my original question how do I get them to go up the ramp and into the coop on their own at night?

Welcome! I live in Dawsonville. I would love to talk chicken! PM me with contact info. I have a friend new to chickens, too. She has to go to Athens to visit her mom a lot. Maybe we could all go have lunch and talk chicken! I have 16 of my friends eggs in my incubator. Hope all comes out ok! What kind of chickens do you have?

I may have more boys than I wanted with ordering from ideal. I have to choose which one to get rid of, if there are more boys than I planned. I have two Cochins one blue and a black. I'm keeping the blue no matter what haha. If one of my sultans is a rooster I might have to sell him. He represents the breed standard. V comb and he has nice feet with long feathers and blue tint feet. "It" has long feathers on its feet, crest and beard. So it's either the sultan or the black cochin bantam. I really don't want the black cochin bantam though. So I may just get rid of the cochin bantam then. Just hopefully the sultan is a girl and just growing weird.
