YO GEORGIANS! :)

So, I had been checking for eggs off and on all morning.  Had 4 nest boxes with hens in them.  I went out a little while ago and Sky was still the box.  I was telling her that she had been there all day and wasn't she finished and I went to reach under her....and she was dead!  Still warm, but stiff!  I am sooo upset!  She laid the most beautiful blue/green egg and she was only 8 1/2 months old!!!  So what do you think happened?

I'm so sorry for your loss:(

Looks good to me:)

Do you guys lose chickens? Had a hawk get two this year, another young pullet keeled over dead as the hawk was getting one (heart attack?) and my rooster died in the coop....no apparent reason and now Sky, dead on the nest! I feel awful! Is this just a natural thing????? And with 4 hens not laying eggs right now I am getting less eggs than ever!

Oh no! I'm so sorry!

Someone was asking about poultry nipples a few days ago. I love them would never go back. Water stays clean. Birds pick up on them in their own time. Very quickly with young chicks

Also on a different note. Does anyone live near the altamaha around Tatnall county. River is high now I understand but I am planning a camping trip August 10 if the sand bars are dry. Would love it if someone could tell me at what river level sand bars are out of the water. Thanks
