It'll get better though.

@LTygress - I can't WAIT to see what the little EEs end up looking like!!

Hubby brought home the frame of the new coop/run today and when I got here we put the walls up! This was the spot I thought would look good- I know it's pretty much the same pics from before but I'm so excited it's in the backyard now lol.

Nice start

Gah! The stupid transformer across the street just blew. Yeah, and I have eggs in the bator and chicks in the brooder. Really? This happens about once a month, and it's really aggravating! Stupid Southern Rivers Energy!

It sounds like the transformer is overloaded or something like a squirrel or a tree limb is shorting it out. If the transformer is blowing once a year or more something is wrong.

**** the predators!

I put my two tiny mixed-breed bantams in separate pens - one with frizzles, the other with silkies. The one I put with the silkies wanted out SO BAD, she would pace the length of the pen everytime I was outside. To make it worse, she had a leg injury and had just spent about a month in my room.

But she was apparently attacked at some point and died today. Her entire head is gone and there are feathers everywhere. Grrr! I moved the extra-large animal trap up beside that pen, and put what was left of her in the bait basket. I REALLY hope the culprit gets caught tonight!

Oh no! I hope you catch the nasty critter!

Both silkies are still alive and... there's a possum in the trap!

Specifically, there is a baby possum in the trap. Not a VERY young baby, but definitely not full-grown yet! Probably a baby from last spring. I've caught several of them in that trap before, and all of them were huge compared to this one.
