YO GEORGIANS! :)

my chickens have never seen snow before. The rest of them are smart & are hanging out inside the shelter

They released us early today from training for the Post Office. Kinda funny, since mail is one of the few things that will run no matter WHAT the weather is like! Rain, sleet, or snow... it's part of their motto!

But one girl went out during lunch, and came back to give us the story of two cars being flipped, and the interstate being shut down - and she didn't even get ON the interstate! She drove about 1/4 of a mile down the road to a McDonald's (crossing the interstate though) and saw all of that!

So they sent us home, and it took me TWO HOURS to do a 30-minute drive home. Interstates are backed-up in the few places that aren't shut-down, and yet people are STILL all wrecking into each other. I lost count around the 8th wreck! The part that scares me isn't the rain, sleet, or snow....

But rather the fact that the temperatures will drop low enough for all the melted crap to re-freeze! BE CAREFUL TOMORROW! There will be black ice EVERYWHERE!

This is just so darn funny because I came from Michigan 3 yrs ago. This is NOTHIN lol I used to drive in blizzards and ice storms on a regular basis. The difference is our road commission had the equipment and sand/salt and brine to handle the conditions. I still drove on ice and snow daily before the trucks got out because I am a nurse. I moved down here to get away from it lol

I know! It's nothing compared to the north EXCEPT the lack of equipment... and the idiots who can't drive... and the black ice. The black ice is the deadly part down here. And that's what will be forming tonight. Most of the actual snow on the roads will melt... and then refreeze as black ice.
