I went to take care of my animals at our little farm (separate property from our house), and my husband called to say that my chicks were gone and there was just shells everywhere. My Australian Shepherd got into the incubator and ate them all. While my husband was home. I don't know who I'm more mad at, him for not keeping the dog away from the incubator, the dog for just being himself, or me for not being sure that the dogs couldn't get to the incubator :he:hit

So, I am here in NYC! Went from this (nice peaceful mountain heaven)

to this (loud, crowded, sirens blaring all night, place) in a few hours!

NO CHICKENS HERE! UGH! Empire state building is between the red roofed building (Union Square building) in the middle of the pic and the tall skinny black looking building to the left of it. Luckily, my daughter and her husband lives in a very nice part of town!

Went from 15,000 steps a day to like 5,000 on my FitBit! No losing weight here. BUT, I am having a great time with my new Grandson! Yea, staying up all night with a bottle in my hand, changing poo poo diapers and singing all the old lullabies from years ago! Love it!

Hope everyone back home is enjoying the good old country air. Oh, and I had to play Brad Paisley's "I'm Still a Guy" song to my daughter because I swear, every male I have seen up here has creamy lotiony hands, and is manicured, waxed and botoxed! I am very glad I'm a country girl! Southern guys are......well, still guys!!!!

And he sold me chicks that died - but I'm also not the only one. Apparently someone on Craigslist is posting about it, but I've been flagging his posts. It hasn't worked though. It just makes me sick knowing about the kids we have all taken to pick up chicks, only to find out it was the home of a convicted sex offender....

I am so glad that I started following this thread!! I have thought about going there many times! I have 3 kids, two are foster kiddos, I don NOT need a sex offender around

I want to buy 2-3 pullets EE or a chocolate layer breed. I also want 3 silkie chicks! My kiddos are begging for silkies for pets! Any suggestions around Henry/Butts/Lamar/Spalding co's or down toward Macon?

Chocolate layers - not yet. I'm expecting three cuckoo maran hens from McMurray in April.

I'm in Butts County, town of Jackson, but off of Exit 201 (Hwy 36). Just traded a bunch of hatching eggs today with abmaddox from this thread. :)
 
Speaking of me, which you obviously are. ;) this batch of eggs is moving sloooow. Hatch day was yesterday. Ugh. If I have no eggs to go in when the hatch comes out, they hatch early. I have 52 eggs waiting to go in and they want to take their sweet time.....
