I did two batches of mixed eggs last year and there wasn't very many that wanted to buy mixed chicks, so this year I am trying to do purebreed. Do you have alot of luck with mixed chicks?55 eggs are going strong! If anybody wants mixed chicks (great for eggs or dinner) let me know. I'm gonna be up to my eyebrows in chicks! Yaaaay!

Makes sense LOL! I need to get my hubby to work on another coop and run so I can seperate my pures. But I may have to hatch some mixed if I don't get the eggs that I want. I have the hatching fever LOL!It comes and goes. Whatever doesn't sell, the girls go in my mutt flock and the boys will head to freezer camp. *shrugs* Either way, they make it easier to feed the three bottomless pits who call themselves my children.![]()
At least my family supports my habit....so long as I keep everyone in eggs!

I know your ready! Maybe you'll get them built pretty quickly. My hubby halfway supports it lol! But he really doesn't want me to hatch anymore. To bad!Since my husband is only home for a few days every 4-6 weeks when he gets home Thursday we're going to mark off where 4 pb pens will go as well as start the turkey enclosure.

Me too! My hubby wanted me to quit last year cause he said we had enough, of course my reply was, no we don't were not going to keep all of them LOL! But I did, and now I'm ready again. I just wish I could get him to build me an outdoor brooder, we are using plastic storage boxes in an extra bedroom right now. I wouldn't mind having some Lav Orps they are so pretty. He wants large cochins. He loves the feathers on their feet. I haven't heard of the first ones you meantioned.I have a severe hatching addiction. I'm getting mottled AMs as soon as this batch is out, then English Orps for the Easter hatch a long, then, hopefully, Dorkings in May. And I'll be hatching my mutts in the in between. Yep, definitely addicted. And I'm trying to find Narragansett and Bourbon Red turkey eggs.
