What? I missed rabbits at the poultry show?! Sheesh.
 
I got another cute lil AM egg this morningggg... :) I SO hope I'll have 6 by next weekend to set. Hey, a little optimism never hurts, right?

By next weekend? Almost definitely. When those girls start laying, it's almost everyday!
 
So, "Little Blue" as I have named it (appropriately) is a SERIOUS cuddler! Every other chicken I have had inside for whatever reason would not let me pet them for the first several days, and didn't want to be near me either. Little Blue jumped off of the old incubator and off of the fridge, and onto my arm this morning as I'm sitting at my desk! Now he (she?) is curled up on my lap nodding off, lol!

Of course, only after she preened herself and spread feather shells all over me and my keyboard drawer....
 
Thanks! Well, she was already laying but has been on hiatus since I got her. Not sure if she was in the middle I a winter break, or if the move/integration got to her. I don't think she had EVER lived in a flock (aside from her mate who came with her), or even spent much time outside of her pen, so I figured she was a little freaked. For the first two weeks she spent 24/7 in the coop alone, worried me to death. Either way I'm thrilled she finally started and I hope you're right!

Morning all! Buildind a chicken tractor for my marans today! The marans and Dominique's are still in quarantine but we needed the extra tractor anyway. And can someone please tell me the correct pronunciation for marans?
 
I always say, "MARE-uhns".. I assume that's correct? I always wonder the same about Wyandotte, LOL. I've never heard anyone say either one, just always read it. That one I read as "WHY-un-dote"
