YO GEORGIANS! :)

You got BO's?? Gimme 4
but I need girls only remember lol

I'll save you some, but I'm no good at sexing them -so I'll just point out that the BO is a dual-purpose breed, and will do well at freezer camp ;). I'm considering telling folks that healthy, young (non crowing) roosters from my chicks are returnable (but non-refundable) -by appointment only. what do you think?

lost buddy last night! neighbors dog attack. learned in georgia law. you have a right to protect your livestock. just to let you all know

I'm so sorry about Buddy. He was beautiful.

I will definitely keep that in mind; our perimeter fences are just 4-strand barbed wire, so we have the occasional visitor. So far, nobody menacing, but heaven help the canine that comes over with ill intent!

where are you located? And how much will you be asking for day-old chicks?

My poor widdle duckies ... not even a fake "Aww, how cute" from a one of you.

Ok but seriously ... what of the world's problems are we fixing today? (After a hefty amount of coffee.)

Good Morning everyone!

GAMarans, my "How freakin' cute!" over those duckies got lost in an immediate checking of the other forums for Ancona ducks :). I'd already decided that if i were to ever have ducks, I'd want those. I was trying to resist expanding the farm too quickly this spring, but wow! I don't know if I'll be strong enough.

Today, my list of problems to fix after coffee includes:
-chasing down my application for teacher certification (lost or just unfiled due to chaos at the office in charge of that, I don't know). I've been so very patient and cooperative until now, but I'm getting a tad frustrated <<sarcasm>>
-visiting a nursing home for a service project with our kennel club; the problem is leaving when we're done without getting stuck chatting with residents for five extra hours ;)
-taking two of the dogs to agility practice, and trying not to kill myself or them.

Oh, and the big problem: I ran out of time yesterday to go to TSC, so now I have to go when they have chicks!! I'm hoping they're just RIR and meaties or something :p. I need to be focusing on rabbits for the rest of the week, since I have two does due this week, and two next week. Extra chicks on top of what I've got coming may be counter-productive ;)

I didn't see the duckies. But I'm sure they're adorable! So far as world problems, I got nothin'. But, I did send a guy in Alabama some eggs a few weeks ago. His ENTIRE flock had been poisoned, had dogs set on it etc. He went from over 400 birds to a handful of ducks turkeys and chickens. He just let me know that 15 out of 24 eggs had hatched and he was giving the rest a couple more days. AWESOME!
