YO GEORGIANS! :)

And the thing that makes what happened so awful is that he's a former marine and most of his chickens go for meat and eggs for various veteran associations.

I would say "What kind of &$^$# does that to someone's livestock?!", but the sad fact is that I already know how awful people can be. Being an adult will do that to you :(. I'm glad his flock is building back up, and he had a good hatch!

There were a lot of us from the NYD hatch along that sent him birds. I think once I get some eggs from the BCM coop I'll toss some of Lemon Pepper's eggs with them and send him a few more.

By the way, I'm loving this page here:
http://www.mjhatcheries.com/experiments.html

This guy is actually doing experiments to "debunk" many myths of sexing chicks, and some other rumors about hatching, incubating, etc.

Although the first one apparently seems to be turning out true for him. Not so for myself. When I switched to the dry-hatch method, I actually got more hens than doing the 50% humidity method.

Oh wow I can't wait to check this out later.

abmaddox ... I may need to get his address from you to send him a few eggs, too. Gotta love something like what he's doing with the birds.

Those ducklings hatched 24-25 of January so it's not like they're newbies. They have "real" feathers coming in. They were the result of an egg hatching project at one of the local schools. Anyone surprised that the kids named the yellow one AFLAC?

Just let me know. I'm waiting on all my hens to start playing before I send another batch.
