Just left Calhoun TSC with "Americana" pullets and SLW's. I'm glad I'm leaving town tomorrow. I really don't need to go the the Rome store for the GLW's.

I've heard to avoid "dual purpose" birds, as they aren't great at either purpose...

I'm getting Red Rangers from McMurray.  They are supposed to be good foragers and are ready to butcher in about 80 days. 

Hmmm, I'll have to check those out. Right now I'm leaning towards getting a few cornish and a few Wyandottes, unless I find something better.

Any of you guys know anything about Polish chickens? I have one who I think (hope, pray) is a girl and I think is a blue Polish?!? I'm so new to this - ahhhh!!!

Yes, I have a GL polish roo, and used to own 7 buff-laced polish hens. KEEP THEM PROTECTED! The predators will go for them, because the crest makes them blind. They get lost EASILY, and call for their friends all the time.
